An Interactive Installation created by John Wild as part of the vanishing point Exhibition at Elevator Gallery London [28/10/10 – 14/11/10].

Descartes Corridor made use of a sonic range finder to create an invisible sonic beam running down the centre of the galleries corridor, from a fixed point at its entrance.
When a person entered the corridor, the distance between the entrance and the person was calculated. The distance data was processed then spoken, via a speech synthesizer, from a wall-mounted speaker.
